Artist’s Statement: When I looked up and saw his eyes, he smiled. His eyes smiled. Mr. Machek, my art professor at Albion College, said, “It’s okay. Everyone can be an artist if he or she wants to- just reach into your heart and give yourself the freedom to create.” Since I was raised by a family blessed with artistic abilities, art was often the focus of our activities. I was encouraged and enabled to create with confidence, enthusiasm and passion throughout my life. My husband and children empower me with support, love and the opportunity to create art each day.
